bigwheel creative picked for Boost launch

Nextel has chosen bigwheel creative as one of 14 content developers to provide applications for the launch of their mobile entertainment service, Boost. Some of the other companies picked to provide content for Boost's launch include ESPN, Amazon.com, Moviefone, MSN Mobile, AOL, and Mapquest.

Another first for ticqle— real location data

Bigwheel creative announced a new partnership that will add true location-data to ticqle, the company's unique wired and wireless community. Through a deal with LocationNet, ticqle members will soon receive alerts when like-minded users are within a given proximity. Users will retain their privacy controls, and may decide whether to send alerts to or receive alerts from matches nearby. Additionally, users decide who to match with, and may make themselves unavailable for alerts at any time. The agreement will make ticqle the first site in North America to match people using real location data.

bigwheel creative tanks up on Pinpoint's Fuel

bigwheel creative today announced that it has joined the Fuel Developer Program of Pinpoint, a leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and applications to the world's largest wireless carriers and portals. With status as a premium Fuel developer, bigwheel's numerous mobile games, community applications and creative products will appear on both foreign and domestic carriers on a pay-to-play basis. The Pinpoint partnership is the latest agreement bigwheel has reached with a licensing partner, allowing the company to focus on developing and delivering new and innovative titles.

CTIA Wireless attendees wowed by bigwheel applications

Attendees of CTIA Wireless, the largest and highest ranked wireless show in the telecommunications and computing industries, got to take a break from their serious wheeling and dealing to play some hockey, answer a few questions, and find out what it's like to be a Viking. At the show, bigwheel's WAPshot Hockey, Trivia Teaser and Viking Name Generator were available to the attendees through bigwheel partner Wmode. bigwheel was a featured developer at the Wmode booth.

bigwheel launches two new applications in Germany

Two of bigwheel's Olympic-themed games—WAPshot Hockey and Winter Sports Trivia Teaser—now appear on the German channel of Vizzavi, a joint venture between the Vivendi and Vodafone groups. bigwheel’s licensing partner, nGame, estimates that 200,000 unique users will access the games during the 2002 Winter Games. This partnership also represents nGame's first steps as a wireless publisher.

bigwheel content live on Cingular, Go2, and Telus Mobility Networks

bigwheel creative’s Winter Sports Trivia is now available to users on the Cingular, Telus Mobility and go2 networks. The deal, completed in cooperation with Mforma, makes bigwheel’s applications available to millions of users across the US and Canada. Users can test their knowledge of the history, people, sites and competitions that make up the Winter Olympiad.

ticqle receives 5-star rating from Cellmania

Cellmania's mFinder, the largest directory of mobile Internet sites, has awarded a five-star rating to ticqle, bigwheel creative's unique wired and wireless entertainment community. The distinction, as high a rating as is awarded by mFinder, places ticqle among the most entertaining and worthwhile destinations on the mobile Web. "You really haven't experienced the mobile Internet until you play the games on ticqle's mobile site," the review states. ticqle, the first location-based matching service in North America, was launched in August 2001. The site allows users to connect based upon shared interests, personalities and locations, and is accessible from both the wired and wireless Web. Along with its unique matching and messaging features, ticqle is also home to bigwheel creative's suite of mobile entertainment applications, which include trivia, sports and word games, name generators, random generators and other boredom killers.

bigwheel partners with Cash-U to develop cutting edge multiplayer title

Through one of its latest partnerships, bigwheel creative is developing Scurvy Dogs, a unique, multiplayer SMS game that allows users to build and maintain the career of their own, personal buccaneer (not Warren Sapp either). Scurvy Dogs, which will be distributed in Europe by bigwheel partner Cash-U, pits players in a variety of group and individual combat missions. As players compete in missions, they accrue experience points and gold, which may be used to upgrade ships and crew and strengthen one’s Scurvy Dog character. The game, one of the first multiplayer SMS applications to be featured by Cash-U, is scheduled for a March release.

Groups let users take ticqle anywhere

bigwheel unveils People's Ladder, continues to grow its wireless suite.

The application poses a variety of questions to users in a tournament style, single elimination format. Questions include: "What is the worst film of the past decade," "What is the best film of the past decade," and "Who is the toughest historical figure". The application, featured on ticqle.com, will feature a new question each week and leaves open the possibility of collecting invaluable data about user preferences.
